I had purchased a 50 pint dehumidifier in June of 2003. By the beginning of August it wasn't dehumidifying anymore, even though the levels were at a point where it should have been working.

I called the company 4 times to complain and to get it fixed. I also sent them a letter documenting everything and sent a copy to the BBB. It took them a month to finally get back to me to tell me that they would replace it.

After another month of waiting and 4 more phones calls to them, they finally called me to offer me a refurbished one! Ugh! I refused since I had originally bought a new one. How dumb do they think people are! Why would I take a refurbished item for the price of a new one.

They finally relented and are now going to refund me my original price...plus the tax. They didn't even want to give me back the tax at first.
