Model MAH4000AWW We purchased a Neptune washer and dryer in March of 2000 after 19 year of great service of a Maytag Washer. We have spent over $500.00 in repairs on four calls since we purchased the unit. In August of 2003 the units door would not lock and the machine would not spin out the excess water.

 

I called our local dealer he asked me to see if the circuit board had a burnt resistor. I found the resistor burnt and called him back.

 

He told me when the resistor is burnt the door latch assembly is also bad. On the same call he discovered the water supply valve was also defective. The total cost of the repair was $376.64 and the in convince of no washing machine for five days.

 

One month later the machine is down again its been two weeks of running to the laundry mat. The local dealer thought it was the timer but it did not resolve the problem. Now they think it is circuit board that was replaced one month ago is defective.

 

The only problem is they can not get one because of high demand. I called Maytag and sent the attached letter [not posted here]. They (after having to talk to a supervisor) have approved paying for the current service call. When you ask Maytag, they claims no one but me is having problems with the Neptune washer.

 

I like to thank Complaints.com for letting me know I'm not the only one with problems with Maytag. See the attached letter that got us a message on our answer machine to letting us know they received it.
