RE: RiteTemp heater model #RTL100MP - from Home Depot, Wallingford, CT - heater won't work - regulator is apparantly defective - unable to get help from RiteTemp customer service or Home Depot
I recently purchased a RiteTemp heater (model number RTL100MP) for my basement from the Home Depot in Wallingford, CT. I could not get it to work after carefully following the instructions and called RiteTemp customer service as instructed at 1-888-515-2585.
I was told by customer service that they had never seen this heater, knew nothing about it and had been referring calls to ProCom (SP?) at 1-888-301-1115. There is no answer at the ProCom number even during regular business hours, and messages left in the general mail box are not returned.
Meanwhile, the heater will not work because the regulator is apparently defective and cannot securely mount to the 1lb disposable propane tank used by this machine.
I contacted Home Depot, which explained that it tries to stock quality products but is not responsible for how products are manufactured. I've also notified the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. Robert Frommelt

I have one of these and the regulator decides to stop the flow whenever it feels like it. You can unscrew depreassurize and then repressurize it will work for a while, but eventually it will shut off again. When it does work it is excellent when not well.....you could freeze. It is definitely a problem with the delivery system.
