To whom it May Concern:

 

In February 2003 we purchased a sofa, and two swivel chairs made by Sklar Pepplar, to be delivered in approximately eight weeks. I wish that I had never heard of this complany.

 

The sofa: Fabric that should have been cut on the straight appeared to have been cut on the bias, - out of shape and had folds. Layup staples left in one of the back cushions.

 

The chairs: Problems with both chairs, sent back three times for repairs.

 

Sklar Pepplar would not help us in any way shape or form.

 

The one chair was so bad that it had to be replaced, at the expense of the furniture store we purchased it from. They false advertise about quality and guarantees. There is no such thing as customer satisfaction with this company.

Are you referring to the sklarpeppler.com website as the store from which you ordered your sofa and chairs?


I recently went into a local upholstery shop and saw two chairs I fell in love with, and when I inquired about them, the proprietor told me they were Sklar Peppler chairs, hand-finished in Canada. I didn't like the fabric but I thought the style was beautiful. The woman at the store also told me they were the only two left and that they weren't planning on getting any more.


I sent an email to the sklarpeppler.com website to see if they had discontinued the chairs. However, after reading a couple of customer complaints about this store, I am concerned.


I realize this complaint was sent in 2003, but if anyone is out there and can tell me about their experience with this company, good or bad, I'd like to hear about it.
