RE: Lowestfare.com - AirTran flight reservation Pittsburg to Jacksonville not honored - stuck at the Pittsburg airport and forced to pay higher ticket price
Dear sir or madam,
On the third week of September I visited Lowestfare.com on the internet in search of an airline deal for a one-way flight from Pittsburgh to Jacksonville. I found what I thought was a great deal at $127 for a single passenger. They e-mailed my confirmation, which I gave to my wife (she is the traveller) and I sent her on her way.
The following day, lowestfare.com e-mailed me stating that "we are unable to process your reservation due to our inability to issue tickets on the airline carrier requested."
Now tell me, why would they not only offer reservations through AirTran, but also confirm such a reservation, if they are unable to issue tickets on that carrier? Additionally, isn't the purpose of sending a confirmation to assure someone of something?
The flight is still going on the scheduled route, but Lowestfare.com failed to take my need for this flight seriously. Unfortunately, I did not find this e-mail until after we became aware of the problem. Now my wife is stuck at the Pittsburgh airport with no option but to accept the rates (about $240) that are higher than those offered last week (right at $200).
I called Lowestfare.com to get the problem resolved, but a very rude customer service rep insisted that she IS the supervisor. Once she realized that I wasn't buying her claim, she still REFUSED to let me speak to her "very busy" supervisor.
After researching online, I came to realize that Lowestfare.com is not a member of the Better Business Bureau. I contacted Lowestfare.com once more to make sure they realized that I will tell everyone who listens that the savings they claim to offer you are not worth it! Hopefully you'll do the same.
