Complaints.com received the following on September 24, 2003:

RE: Best Buy - www.bestbuy.com - purchased laptop online - unable to get Best Buy rebate due - told sent the wrong from and rebate time had expired so there was nothing that could be done I bought a laptop online from Best Buy July 4th, 2003. There were two rebates promised - one from Best Buy and one from HP. HP has honored theirs. Best Buy is jerking me around with claims of me "sending in the wrong rebate form". It's the form that appeared when I clicked to get it from their site.

Then, two months afterward, they finally write me to let me know they weren't going to pay because I'd sent in the "wrong form". When asked how to get the right form to re-submit, I'm told it isn't available any longer and "there is nothing they can do".

I wrote their Corporate Headquarters the best letter I could muster. No response.

I gave them the choice to come clean and vowed if they chose to NOT do the right thing, I would do all possible to hurt them. That's what I'm doing now.

I promised not to ever buy another thing from them and to encourage everyone I know to follow suit. They are not to be trusted in my experience. Do not deal with these scoundrels in my opinion. They made false promises to me. They will never see another dollar from my pocket.
