AOL Travelers Advantage - unknowingly subscribed to AOL travelers advantage since 1998 - trouble cancelling - want refund

I recently found out that I somehow subscribed to aol travelers advantage back in 1998 and I never knew that I signed up for it, but aparently I did. I called travelers advantage 3 times and the 2 times I called they wouldn't give me any information about my account because I have an account number but I know nothing about it.

How am I supposed to find out what is going on when I don't know my account number in the first place? I finally called back the 3rd time cause I got my bank statement and there were numbers on it so I thought that might be my account statement but it wasn't. The person that I talked to helped me understand what went on. I have never used this travelers advantage at all, but I found out from him that I got billed every year for 5 years.

I found out that I had a membership somehow because my bank called me and said that I had a negative balance in my account and I got charged for funds not being in there so not only did I have to pay for 5 years of this unknown membership I got penalties from my bank and of course again I never used anything from there.

I think it's wrong for them to not give me something back. If I had this membership I would have either used it or canceled it. Note to others....be sure to check your aol accounts because you never know when someone will try to squeeze something past you and you'll never know about it...or like me find out 5 years from now that you been had.
