RE: First Consumers National Bank - FCNB MasterCard account - account closed by FCNB - unfairly charged late fee - sent final payment on time - now being dunned by NCO collection agency I am complaining about First Consumers National Bank's MasterCard accounts. They sent us notice they would not have Visa and MasterCard anymore and that we should make our payments as usual if we had a balance. I sent my payment as usual but they held my check for 3 weeks before crediting it and charged me a late charge.
When I called the number had been disconnected and an address was given to write to instead. I wrote, no answer. Next month same story. The third month I wrote MasterCard corporate address. Still not an answer. I refused to pay the late charges and told them unless this was fixed I would not continue to send my payments. No one responded again.
Now a collection agency, NCO, says they are handling these accounts and I am supposed to pay them because FCNB is Bankrupt. I am so angry. What kind service is this for MasterCard? They only collect the high interest and care nothing about their customers.
Was it so hard to respond to a customer? I had to get a lawyer to find this information!!! To a lawyer they could respond but not to a customer!! They have illegally charged late charges to us in an effort to make more money.
