At 37,000 miles approx the catalytic converter had to be replaced. Luckily this was covered under pollution control warranty. Now at just over 50,000 miles my transmission must be rebuilt.
I spoke to the dealer and they said it is not uncommon for transmissions to fail this early or even earlier. I am having the transmission done by an independent shop that has a good reputation.
I really don't trust the manufacturer or the dealer to provide me with a reliable product or reliable service. No more Pontiacs for me.
