RE: Alltel Wireless - formerly with Centurytel - bills increased - ongoing billing problems
my problems with alltell began around in March when the company I was with Centurytel was bought out by alltell. My bill doubled, I kept calling, Kept calling, changing minutes, etc, but eventually my bill almost tripled. No one would help me.
Finally, after I got a bill for a fee of $99.00 for something I lost it, I had to actually set up a installment plan to try to pay my cell phone bill. Finally, I got a hold of a representative in April or May that flat out told me that I had been overbilled. She credited my account for $150.00, but, I know that I was charged way more than that, and I still have no resolution for this.
Also, they are trying to force me to resign another contract with them. When I initially went with Centurytel, there was some technical support in the office for customers with phone problems, I was given two Nokia 3500 series telephones which I have nothing but trouble with especially when they changed in March. My phone may ring, it may alert me as to messages, etc.
My daughters phone is the same way. She went in about three weeks ago with the problem of her phone not showing anything on the screen. She was told that she would have to buy a phone for $159 to 300 or sign a new one to two contract to get a phone at a reduced rate. They would not nor could not repair her phone it was outdated.
I am not about to sign another contract with them, so we asked would they program another phone the same 3500 series phone so that she could use it, they refused. So, this meant that my daughter unless she paid this money or signed a contract would not have a phone to use. I told them to terminitate my contract, and they now tell me that there is a $200.00 fee involved. I feel that Alltell, has no concern whatsoever for their customers and that the representatives and extremely uninformed and rude.
I wouldn't recommend their services to anyone Can anyone help me as to what I should do to try to resolve this situation, I feel like it is going to be a problem in the future. Even though I have asked them twice (I called two times on 9/3 to disconnect service) The first time the representative left me on hold for 15 minutes and never returned, the second time I called back to verify that services were terminiated. But, my phones are still on. please help(((what should I do???
