McAfee - Antivirus and Firewall programs crashed computer - McAfee refuses to refund money

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on September 28, 2002:

I bought McAfee Antivirus and Firewall programs that crashed my computer. I asked for a refund within 30 days of purchase but it has been over one year and 18 pages of correspondence with no refund yet.

They attempted to charge my credit card for a renewal which I refused to pay since I had to format the HD to get rid of their programs.

I would be pleased to see a class action suit for refunds if others have experienced the same runaround from McAfee. I now have Norton and it works just fine.
