RE: Bank One Auto Loan - made payments per agreement - received phone calls saying didn't make payments - very poor experiences with Bank One Last year we purchased a vehicle and the dealer set up the loan with Bank One, actually it was our choice simply due to the fact that they had the best interest rate at the time. I will say that no matter how low their interest rate is again I will never have any loan nor any other type of business done with Bank One again.
I pay our bills online through our bank. When I got the Bank One coupon book for the vehicle payments I set it up online just like all my other payments I make. For 3 months I sent the payments (way ahead of time - just my accounting profession showing through) to Bank One via our bank online.
One day my husband started getting harassing phone calls at work from Bank One personnel stating we have never made any payments! My husband tried to talk to these people, stating the facts, but they called him names and continued to harass him.
On the other side I got ahold of our bank, who showed that Bank One had received all 3 payments, and had clearly taken the funds. In the end it took me weeks to prove to Bank One that they were the ones that couldn't properly post the payments!
Then I had to fight them to have the late fees and interest they had tacked on at their mistake to my loan. Their customer service is non-exisent! I had to become very verbal during this battle and fight to constantly get up a level to get anyone that had a brain.
They treated me as if I was the one lieing about making the payments. I had to fax over all the documents from my bank then we did a conference call between all 3 of us to finally clear this matter up. Thank goodness my bank has excellent customer service and was so extremely helpful through this!
And as stupid as it sounds I tried one more time to make this kind of payment, after I received a letter from Bank One that they had updated the finance posting department. But to no avail they still didn't know how to post a payment! I monitored them this time though! The only kind of payment Bank One understands is the old fashioned check!
As I stated once this vehicle is paid off I will never never do business with Bank One again! As for phone numbers they no longer have a good phone number to harass us at.
The do now have an online area to check on your auto loans that I do monthly to insure my payment was posted properly, but you still can't pay them directly online. I'd say this bank is in the dark ages and totally lacks in any customer service!
