RE: 2000 Ford Focus - lost power while driving card 4 times in the last 3 months - concerned about safety and reliability of vehicle

I own a 2000 Ford Focus. I have had four instances in the last 3 months where I have lost power in my vehicle. In all four situations, I was in heavy traffic and was very lucky to not have been involved in an accident.

When I have had the car serviced I am told that it must be due to the extreme heat of the summer ( two incidents occurred during the August heat wave in Pa) and there was no error message in the on board computer! I have it scheduled again for service on the 18th of September. If this does not resolve the problem I will have the car on the market and will never buy a domestically manufacturer auto again! Ihave also had to pay for service despite the car having a 100,000 mile power train warranty! So much for that being useful! I have loved Fords my entire life - but I will have to sever the love affair as I am feeling no love from Ford!!! Dot Furbay
