Sears electric stove model # 790 - stove top stays hot for 8 minutes at approx. 130 degrees - concerned about fire safety

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on September 14, 2002:

I purchased a Sears Electric Coil element stove model # 790 93754100 Serial #14604256 delivered 9-12-02..whenl the element is turned off, the surrouonding area remains hot I checked; it went up to approximately 130 degrees and did not cooll down for eight minutes.

There is also a dent in the side. The stove is next to a wood cabinet and could cause fire.

I took my complaint to the local Sears Store in the Bowie Town Center, talked to the manager, and she said she would pass it on. I need immediate action? what can I do?
