RE: Greatdomains / Networksolutions / Verisign - trouble with domain purchase Dear Sirs/Madams at Greatdomains / Networksolutions / Verisign, I have serious doubts that you will give me exact answers that I have been waiting for around 4 months. Beforehand I hope you won't reply with 3-4 lines of bull**** that I came across in the previous replies of yours. Here is the story. Greatdomains.com had a feature sell of the domains on hold. The price was $50 dollars. I chose regsiterwebsite.com and put in my credit card information and clicked yes. Then the trouble began... First of all I found out that even though the money transaction happened there was not any action going on to transfer the domain name to my name. This process was advertised to take 4-6 weeks. I waited for 2 months and there wasn't a word. I emailed every f***ing dept. of greatdomains.com and used the form sheet online and only answer I got was "Yes, our records show that you bought a domain name from us". So then I kept emailing and waiting, I tried every tone I could use in an email; I tried to be polite, I cussed, I talked about the economic crisis in Turkey and $50 being half of the avarage monthly salary of a Turkish worker. NO RESPONSE! It is a big big shame for billions of dollars worth(?) companies like you. Later while I was checking the whois database I saw that it was my name showing on the screen. It took around 3 months but it was there. Then I wanted to use the domain name (that's why I bought it) but it was mysteriously parked on afternic.com which I am a member of but can't think of the time when I parked it. Anyway, as all webmasters online want to do I sure want to make changes on dns servers, ip servers and also on the other information. But hey, where do I go and change the records? There is a mystery in there? Greatdomains doesn't have a feature on their website like register.com has, so that I can go and type the new info I want. So I emailed greatdomains once again, networksolutions and also the big guys "verisign" and guess what? No word! Oh yeah, I am just a complaining ex(that's for sure) customer from way out, Turkey. You know what, if we had 10-10-220 here I was going to call your callcenter and yell out "You guys suck!" since it appears that you guys can't reply emails. I was so tired of all this but another surprise happens. What I got today is a "FINAL" notice from Network Solutions that I am to pay $70 and the envelope says "Urgent: Your domain name is vital. Don't lose it." What kind of a scheme are you guys working on? I pay $50 and I am supposed to own the domain name for two years; I can't even change my domain's records and now I get a notice saying I am to pay $70. I only hope that I get a reply from "English-speaking" (That's another story) people on this issue and don't get an annoying auto response message. 1) I want to know how to change my whois info. Who is my registrar, it appears to be network solutions, but is it? 2) I want to find out why I am in $70 debt? 3) I want a serious apology. If I have been too hard in this email it is meant to be for "the big corporation" I am not accusing any plain employee. Also it may have happened to you that I am sending this email to consumer rights associations. YOU CAN'T JUST PLAY WITH ME BECAUSE I CAN'T COME AND KNOCK ON YOUR DOOR!!! and oh thanks for making a paranoid net shopper out of a calm, quit guy. Necati Topyildiz. the cursed domain of (mine/yours?): registerwebsite.com greatdomains.com login: Email User story began on: March 23rd 2001
