Telephone Service, VoiceStream cheaper not to cancel account ?

Complaints.com received the following e-message on September 25, 2001:

RE: Voice Stream I'm having difficulty with my VoiceStream account. I've called and talked to a supervisor and still feel very frustrated. I've been told one thing verbally and then they wrote nothing about what I asked about and now because the notes on file don't match what I said, they say they can't help me. How this company extends the contract with any kind of question is very frustrating, and of course, the supervisor I was put in contact with, said that no one could help my frustration.
Basically, I was ultimately told that it would be cheapest for me to pay $20 a month and not use the phone rather than cancel my account (because they extended the time frame of the account when extended "free" weekend minutes). Can you give me any hints on any recourse I might have?
