RE: Household credit card
I do not know what else to do. I have a credit card with household bank and I made a payment over the internet. While posting the payment I made an error and posted the wrong amount. Thinking that I erased it an put the correct amount. To my surprise I posted two payments. I also notified the Household card customer service that I was going to make a payment of $50.00. And the person whom I spoke to told me they would make a note of this. Well, the error was for $5000.00.
I tried to call them and let them know that this money was withdrawn from my bank leaving me with no funds to back up my account. I called household to see if they could help me resolve this problem. After I spoke to one person I was told that it was my problem and there was nothing they could do about it; even though it was not yet posted on their computer. I was very upset and called my bank.
I was forced to put a stop payment on these two payments because they left me no other alternative. I then called them back and told them what I had done and they said that in this case now I was to be charged $29.00 for each payment I stopped. Not only did I pay my bank $27.00 for this transaction I also have to pay household bank. I feel if they would have been more customer related then they could have helped me knowing that anyone in there right state of mind would not pay $5050.00 on a credit card that was only for a limit of $1000.00. Why would I want to pay interest on my own money.
If I had that amount in the bank that is where I would leave it. It's only common sense. I will pay off the amount that I owe to this credit card company and I will never again do business with them. And I want to advise all the people that use the internet to be careful what they do because it can be very costly especially with companies that refuse to help there customers. I hope that my voice will be heard.
Thank you.
