Computer Hardware - Sony Vaio Notebook problems with Sony customer service
Sony Sony From: Date: Wednesday, September 12, 2001 11:08 AM Sony goes out of it's way to be user UNfriendly. I have a Vaio Notebook FCG150 which had a dim, but functional display. Called support, sent in for estimate. So far I have 3 estimates ranging from $343-967. I can only phone what is basically a billing dept and have only been able to weasel out a FAX number for tech support. I have been told alternately that the LCD needed replacing. When I complained that the display worked I was told the description said it was damaged. I complained and they responded by simply removing the LCD from the est. When I complained about that they decided the motherboard was bad and left me with a $755.91 estimate. This display WORKED; there was a bad switch in the latch. Further emails have gone unanswered. I have NO effective phone number; NO real email option; NO fixed computer. I thought Sony was a good computer, but can't possibly begin to consider it for the 400 med students I support if this is how they treat customers.
