Stores, Furniture - Bob's Discount Furniture, Salem, NH delivery 13 weeks late, poor customer service
Bob's Discount Furniture Furniture, Other From: Date: Sunday, September 09, 2001 02:51 AM On June 9, 2001 we bought a new bedroom set at Bob's Discount Furniture in Salem, NH. We were told that it was in stock and that it would be delivered then following Wednesday.
We paid by credit card. That was thirteen weeks ago! While our account was charged we still have not recieved delivery of the bed!! Every time we call the customer service number we get to talk to either Janet, or Sharon who promptly apologize, then lie to us as to what is going on and when we can expect delivery. This has been a nightmare from the get go and I wouldn't reccomend this store to anyone! Saleswoman said everything was in stock...put the card through...turns out only 1/4 pcs was in stock...waited a few weeks but it was delivered on time. HOWEVER...soon after we noticed the headboard attached to the siderail was cracked and when we called for service...(turns out the protection we bought is useless in this case) we where told by the bitchy, unimaginably rude "customer service" employee that we should have noticed it earlier and that it was our own fault that we didn't because according to her experience she checks under bed quite frequently (for what???) We continued to beg her to put a supervisor on the phone but she told us she couldn't because she needed a reason. A REASON???>>>She was now the REASON! She then put us on hold for more than 30 minutes...(I call that hanging up on us)ANYWAY...we waited weeks for a technician to come from Conn. to make sure it was really broken and he showed after only 1 cancellation due to weather( I guess it was windy that day in Conn.)...THEN when the furniture guys came they didn't know which pce they had to replace and almost left without replacing the actual pce attached to the headboard that was CRACKED...and FINALY...I look under my bed today and I noticed they forgot to screw the legs onto the underside of the middle frame. WHAT TO DO??? I know..I'll do it myself and sleep on it and break it (my fault) or no wait better idea... I'll sleep on the floor and wait for the "tech" guy to come from Conn. and "O.K." the furniture guys to come back and screw me again! All I know is that the people at BOBs (esp. in customer service)must feel very secure in their jobs to treat people who are spending their hard earned money (esp. in this economy)at this store. This for sure...Bob will not get another dime from me again. Oh and do they ever allow anyone to speak to a supervisor? When I purchased the furniture they told me that it was in stock. I specifically asked them if it was in stock and they said it was. They delivered my furniture and only brought me my Bureau. I then called the customer service and they told me that my furniture was on back order for 3 months.
