RE: AOL - closed AOL account in August, 2003 - billed for CompuServe online service for that closed account in Sept., 2003 - CompuServe account fradulently setup by AOL

In July, I had two accounts with AOL. I called and closed one of the account in July. As usual the AOL representative tired to used their "strong arm" approach of getting me not to cancel. I told the rep that I wanted the account closed. She tried to sell me CompuServ online services and I refused. In August, I was billed my CompuServe for online services. The problem: I do not have online services from CompuServe. I never requested services nor did I ever sign up for their online services and yet, they are billing me. CompuServe has informed me that the account was set up by AOL. I NEVER AUTHORIZED AOL TO SET UP SERVICE FOR ME THRU COMPUSERVE. I NEVER AUTHORIZED AOL TO GIVE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO COMPUSERVE. AOL, THIS IS ILLEGAL. You had no right to transfer my personal information to anyone. For weeks now I have tired to contact CompuServe to stop charging my credit card because I do not have any service with them and to cancel whatever services they claim that I have with them, I have been very unsucessful. You see CompuServe, plays a game, they place you on hold for hours, there is no one there to help. I have not been able to close this account. They are giving me the run around. Since you open the account, you close the account. I have also tried to get in touch with your fraud department over there at AOL and you know what, you also, play the telephone game. Your customers are placed on hold for hours, with no ever picking up the phone. I have called State of Minnesota, Attorney General's office and have file a complaint against your company and CompuServe. What you did is illegal. Since, I can not get someone on the phone, I want someone from AOL to call me and tell me how they are going to resolve this problem. I WANT MY ACCOUNT REIMBURSED FOR THE THREE MONTHS THAT COMPUSERVE CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD. TOTAL CHARGE - $59.85. My name is Rolanda Betton

CompuServe reference number for this account is #115129957. My telephone number is 612-588-2sss SOMEONE CALL ME. I WANT TO FILE A FRAUD COMPLAINT WITH YOUR FRAUD DEPARTMENT ASAP. AND I WANT COMPUSERVE CALLED AND THIS PROBLEM RESOLVE. YOU AT AOL OPENED THIS ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION, NOW YOU CONTACT COMPUSERVE TO CLOSE IT AND REIMBURSE ME. Rolanda Betton
