RE: GE Refrigerator

Just an update on the complaint I sent on 10/08/03 and the dealer's name on 10/24/03. It concerned a refrigerator I purchased for over $900.00 and contained only one ice cube tray. To my amasement I still have not heard from or received another ice cuble tray which has to be worth at least $.50. I've had some problems with Sears but at least the new refrigerator I purchased for our summer home in OC, MD just a month before came with 2 ice cube trays.

The craziest thimg about GE, they originally emailed me and advised where I could purchase one. When I emailed them back advising that I was further insulted they had a girl call me and she told me she would tell the engineering dept. because they are the ones at GE who determine how many trays should be in each refrigerator. As John Stossell say: "Give Me A Break"

RE: GE refrigerator - only one ice cube tray inside - told by GE that have to buy ice cube tray, if want another one

I recently purchased a new refrigerator for $900.00, from a local retailor. No problem with delivery but when I chacked the inside I noticed only one ice cube tray. I contacted GE about this and I received a reply as to how I could purchase one. Now this is an item that must cost at least .35 cents to make.

I replied that I was insulted by the reply. I then received a phone call from a GE represenative telling me she was sorry to learn that I would no longer buy any GE products. She then proceeds to tell me that the number of ice cube trays is determined by the engineering dept. She said she would submit my request to have at lease two trays in a refrigerator.

This is just unbelievable that GE would take the time to have someone make a long distance call to further insult me about such a small request. I had purchased a refrigerator for our condo about 6 months ago from Sears and yes it had two ice cube trays.

Everyone I tell this story can't believe that Ge wouldn't have sent a tray or have their retailer follow up with one for me. I'm really amazed over this situation.
