RE: Maytag Neptune - purchased 2.5 years ago - ruined control board - faulty door lock assembly
This is a copy of a letter sent to Ralph Hake at Maytag. It's really frustrating when you spend hard-earned money on a product, and then this happens. I'm referring to the reliability with Maytag Corporation and I'm hoping you can do something about it. Frankly, I'm furious over this matter. For the record, I own a MAH4000AWQ from your company. I've had my Maytag Neptune for 2.5 years. I'm now faced with a ruined control board and a faulty wax motor in the door lock assembly. The estimated price of the fix was in excess of $400.00. Maytag has offered to give me the parts free and to install them for $50. That's nice. (In my opinon, it's the very least you could do.) The machine control board was already replaced once with the PHA kit. The valves were replaced in March 03. What else do I have to look forward to? Here's what I'd like to see happen: Extend my warranty 7 years or buy this machine back. It's not too much to ask for a washing machine to last at least 10 years problem free. (Especially given the cost of this machine.) My last one (a Maytag) was perfect for 17 years. If you WON'T stand by this machine, how do you expect me to stand by you? If you CAN'T stand my this machine buy it back and sell me one you CAN stand by. I really hope you can solve this, because it will determine whether I buy anything else from you in the future.
You can be sure I won't give my friends a good review of your products. Please respond to this complaint as quickly as possible. From: Michael K. Waterford, MI From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Friday, 10-Oct-03 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
