April 30, 2003. At a rush/hurryup/sign here closing, my other half and I put our name and initials on every single closing document for a first mortgage and a home equity line of credit. We trusted Wells Fargo to be looking out for us. Come October 2003. After receiving poor service time after time, we decide to have our HELOC converted to our credit union. Everything goes through fine, until the credit union calls to say that Wells Fargo says we owe them $500. Looking back, I discover that, in the very very very very very fine print, it says that if you leave you owe Wells Fargo $500. I don't think that it is right for a company to charge you for leaving them for poor service. I will never again use Wells Fargo products. And I will tell all my friends not to do so.
