RE: Countrywide Mortgage - charged $ 30 for payoff documentation that did not request - privacy violated by sending documentation as result of invalid request
In July of this year Countrywide Mortgage was notified by someone to send the pay-off documentation on my home. They charged my account $30.00 for this service. I called Countywide to inquire about the charges and they gave me some lame excuse. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
On September 9th Countrywide called me at work and insinuated that I gave my account to someone. I am very organized and handle my own affairs...My business is my business.
They are not being accountable for less than their poor handling of my account. They failed to produce any legal document authorizing permission to furnish any information to unknown sources. They did not have a name, address of whom the information was sent to.
They had an obligation to protect and secure the privacy of my business with their company. My rights were violated to disclose information about my account.
