Gold's Gym, Maui, HI - told did not owe money - account sent to collection agency anyway

My husband had been going to Gold's Gym and then decided he would leave it. The Manager there, Lynn, said she cancelled the account. My husband thought it was all taken care of and then one day received a letter stating that he owed so much amount of money to this credit company for Gold's Gym.

My husband then called Lynn @ Gold's Gym in Kihei Maui location. She told him to ignore it because it was a mistake and that this would be taken care of.

It has been nearly a year since that happened and now he is receiving threatening calls from the credit collection company telling him that he needs to pay or else. My husband tried to explain that he had called the manager at Gold's Gym and she told him that it was a mistake.

The guy then got very upset at my husband and began to treat him like a child and tell him that it doesn't matter because it was Gold's Gym themselves that are suing him. The conversation ended up being cut short as my husband did not like the fact that he could not get one word in and the man only wanted to hear about money.

This has not only happened to my husband but to many other people whom we know that has attended Gold's Gym.

We don't understand why this is going on and if they are just trying to see if they can fool someone into paying something they don't even know. This credit collection for Gold's Gym constantly calls everyday harassing my husband for money.

This is normal for the owners of Gold's Gym on Maui. They are crooks and scumbags. They owe so many people and companies it is funny. Lynn and her husband Jim are just alike. Both crooks and scumbags. The owner Bill King has a ton of money yet he still rips people off. Sad they do business this way but now they don't own Gold's anymore and in fact are so in debt they are selling off the gyms. Serves them right.
