RE: 2000 Pontiac Grand Am - power window regulators failed - car out of warranty - dealer quoted $ 240 for each window plus labor to fix I have a 2000 Grand Am and with in 3 weeks of each other the power window regulators failed because of a substandard plastic bracket that causes the unit to self destruct--

My Vehicle has 24,000 miles on it and was out of warranty for 4 months -- contacted my Pontiac service dealer and the parts guy laughed when he quoted me $240 dollars a piece plus labor and said "we sell aton of them" I know of 2 other Grand ams that have had the same problm. Any one else ??

Pontiac was contacted thru their web site and they offered to pay for only one window and only at 50% that would have still been $190 bucks and I found the regulator on line for 99 bucks aftermarket, probably better cause its not made by GM, and I will put it in. What a rip off from Pontiac.

1999 Grand Am GT

Driver's power window fixed during warranty. Front passanger window fixed at my expense. Rear passenger window waiting to be fixed. Driver's window went out a second time.

Also, brake rotors replaced while under warranty. Ignition switch replaced under warranty. Low traction light on most of the time (taken to dealer several times during warranty period). And, just swallowed a $600 bill for intake manifold seal replace due to dexcool.

Not a happy customer!
