RE: Manotick Bridal Salon, Ontario, Canada - dress ready for pickup four months past the original delivery date I read a complaint on complaints.com about Manotick Bridal Salon, and I felt the need to add my complaint too.
I found my wedding dress in September of 2000. My wedding was set for September 2001. I thought I had given the salon and the manufacturer plenty of notice to order and prepare my dress. Ha!
My dress was scheduled to arrive at the Manotick store in mid-February. I called twice that month, only to keep hearing the same excuse: "your dress hasn't arrived from the manufacturer's yet, we'll call you when it arrives".
By April, no phone call. . I called again, only to be told that the manufacturer had made the dress incorrectly, forgetting to add some length to dress. It was suggested that it was my fault for being 6 feet tall that the dress would take longer to make. The dress had been sent back for repair. Fine, we still had plenty of time, but why would they not call me to update me on the status, as per my numerous requests?
My dress finally arrives in June, four months past the original delivery date. The only reason I knew my dress had arrived was because I called them, AGAIN. Not once did Manotick ever call me to apologize or even explain or inform me that my dress had arrived.
When I went to try on my dress for alterations, I was promised free alterations to help smooth things over. The week before the wedding, my mom and her friend go to pick up my dress, only to be asked for payment of $275 for alterations! Unbelievable. Mom didn't pay, I drove to the 30 minutes to the store and verbally tore the scalp off the women who worked there. We walked out of there with my dress, no payment for the alterations, and a big headache. It was The Worst service I have received, ever!
Thankfully, the dress was perfect, but that's attributable to the manufacturer. Who, by the way, didn't seem to have a record of my first dress order, the one they supposedly made too short.
Things that make you go Hmmmm.
Thanks for adding my complaint to the list.
Rae Borris.
