In March 2002, I purchased a Jacobs Electronics computer ignition energy pak, hoping to increase the horsepower and torque in my 1998 Dodge truck. The unit cost $454.00. The unit was installed in April and has worked very well. When I towed our camper, I definitely noticed an improvement in the trucks performance. The unit just quit working two weeks ago on September 27th. In just 18 months of operation and 30,000 miles, my $454 unit quit. The warranty on this unit is one yr. I faxed a letter to Jacobs and the only response I have received is a hand written note that says Your part is out of warranty 1 yr from date of purchase. No other options for a fee based repair were mentioned. I have emailed the company twice; no response. I have left voice mail messages. The phone numbers listed for Jacobs are all automated and it is absolutely impossible to reach a Jacobs employee, if indeed there are any. If I had known that there was a chance of this unit quitting after this short of a period, I could have bought a different brand.
