We are having the same problems as all the others that have posted complaints about the Maytag Neptune. We purchased it in May 1998 and we have also had service out 3-4 times and it is broke again. It will not drain and it sounds like it is ready to die.

During the last few repairs we ended up needing a new gasket, new control board, and other items I can not even remember.

Each time the repairman did not have the parts and they had to be ordered. We also were w/o the washer for several days. We also had to pay for the service call. So far our bills have not been as high as some posted. We are at about $300. Most of the parts were free because the problem was identified while still in the 1 yr warranty.

We are scheduled to have yet another Maytag repair person out this week at a cost of $90 just for him to tell us what is wrong. So we will be approaching almost 1/2 the cost of the washer in repairs over only 4 years!

Someone suggested suing Maytag - maybe a class action lawsuit is in order? Do they even care that they have so many dis-satisfied customer?
