National Auto Exchange, Alsip, IL - promised to be reimbursed for travel expense incurred to inspect vehicle - then told would not be reimbursed

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on October 7, 2002:

I flew to Chicago to buy a vehicle which was offered on ebay. When I arrived I was picked up at the airport and driven to National Auto Exchange in Alsip, IL.

I started to inspect the vehicle and I realized that 2 of the seatbelts had been cut. I was promised I would be reimbursed for my flight home and dinner that evening.

I have called National Auto Exchange 4 times to find the status of my check.

I was finally told today that I would not be receiving a check because it was my "choice" not to buy the vehicle and that it was my "choice" to fly to Chicago and incur the expense of getting home. Now I am out $590.00.
