RE: 2000 Holiday Rambler Ambassador Motorhome - in the shop 6 times for repair

we purchased a holiday rambler motorhome (2000) diesel pusher with allison 1000 transmission with a cable linkage system in it, and have had nothing but trouble since we drove it off the lot, we have had it in shops 6 different times with no satisfaction even a visit to the main factory in elkhart,Ind .

the engine will start in the park position when the transmission is placed in the reverse position which is the first detent, it is in reverse but as you move the transmission lever to the neutral position it remains in reverse, moving the lever into the overdrive detent the transmission is then in neutral, by moving the lever to the second drive position the transmission is in drive.

when the lever is placed in the neutral position the engine will not start but will start in the overdrive position.
