NCO Financial Systems - NCO ePayments - unauthorized charge to NCO ePayments

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on October 2, 2002:

On 09/27/02 I received my bank statement,and my used checks from my bank.I was surprised to find a check produced by NCO ePayments,paid to none other than NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS in the amount of $170.65.The top of the check read like this(This check produced by NCO ePayments.Questions may be addressed to 1(800)288-6729).Anyone reading this call and hear what they have to say.

I had to go on the internet to get phone numbers,and finally got to NCO ePayments,they told me that I call them on 09/13/02 and authorized them to pay a utility bill for someone named Harvey Ramsey, I told the lady on the phone that I did not authorized anyone to take money out of my checking account.NCO response,WE HAVE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER WE CAN PAY ANYONE's bill we want to.

I ask NCO why did they not call my home phone number on the check to varify who the caller was,NCO response we don't have to do that,I ask is there any way I can get my money back,NCO response NOWAY we are in the business to collect money not pay out money,and there is nothing else we can do for you,NCO hang the phone up.

I call back I ask for information about Harvey Ramsey,NCO response,We cannot tell you anything because Harvey Ramsey is protected by a privacy act,I said you have my name,address home phone no.my checking account no.what about my privacy,NCO response,that's too bad hung phone up.I have read some of the complaints posted on here.

Now we know why NCO FINANCIAL SYSTEMS is a multimillion-dollar company.Anyone else have experiences with NCO would like to here from you.
