RE: Trans Union Corporation / Credit Card denial - own home and cars outright with no debt - but denied credit card

I'm a resident alien living and working in California since 1997. Wells Fargo customer since 1995.

Multiple attempts to get a credit card in order to establish a credit record have failed. The last advice I got from colleagues as well as American Express Executive Offices (after being turned down for a Delta/American Express CC) was to apply for a gasoline CC. Well, I applied for one from CITGO and ... you

guessed it: Citibank (South Dakota), N.A.

Wilmington, DE 19850-5687 turned me down again due to "insufficient established credit history" Report was provided by The Consumer Reporting Agency

PO Box 1000

Chester PA 19022-0000 How the heck can I ever establish a credit record if I always receive a denial? Even a bad record appears to be better than none.To make myself clear. I don't need the bloody credit, but I'd like to save money using e.g. a card from Home Depot, where one gets 10% on the 1st purchase. PS.: I own a home on 4 acres and 2 cars (Dodge Ram 1997 and a Camaro Z28 Convertible 1999). All fully paid for. No check ever bounced. Never had a loan. Something is wrong with these so called 'Consumer Reporting Agencies'. None of them investigate or try to find out whether someone is a solvent consumer or not. They just check their database. If you are not in you're screwed! I'm NOT going to pay for their reports - it's worth nothing anyway. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks
