Newport News clothing catalot company, Hampton, VA - not given deferred payment option that was advertised

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on October 23, 2002:

From: RE: Newport News clothing catalot company, Hampton, VA - not given deferred payment option that was advertised I am very disappointed with Newsport News (a clothing catalog company) at Easy Style Drive, Hampton, VA 23630. For starters, for me, Newsport FALSELY advertised a deal where you can " Buy now, pay nothing until December 2002." Even though I requested this deferred payment option (on 9-29-02), they charged my account two days after I placed the order (10-1-02).

The sales representative that I spoke with said I could have my payment deferred; however, Newsport did not honor my request for deferred payment. Because I did not expect them to charge my account so soon, this has been a serious financial problem to me. Furthermore, I told Newsport to NOT send anything else and to cancel any back orders.

They did not honor this request neither. When I called a second time to ask why they had sent more items after I told me to not send anything else, the sales representative had a nasty attitude with me. This exemplifies Newsport's lack of satisfactory customer service.

They have caused me major financial problems- only because I did not expect them to charge my account until December. I will never again shop at Newsport News, and I do not recommend anyone else to shop with them. Katrina Flowers
