My mother has a credit card issued her by Household Credit Card Services / Household bank / Household Credit Services... (all one and the same) My mother never used this card, and it is attached to the same paper/card it came on. Likewise, she never activated the credit card. Household has built up various service charges and interest and penalties on a card that has not purchased dollar one of anything for my mother. They have called and called and called in effort to collect from my mother. She told them she did not want the card, that she never activated it, and to cancel it...

They replied saying "the acctount was already canceled for lack of payment..." "Go Figure!" After fighting with them for months and wanting to resolve the issue, a settlement was arranged and my mother paid $180.00+ dollars. Don't have the exact figure in front of me. All was quiet for a few months and then Household started calling again. Now it's $ 300.00+ dollars that they are trying to extort from a 72 year old woman for a canceled credit card that has purchased nothing. She can't get out of this mess and thats how I became involved. I am reaching out to anyone who will listen. ACORN.ORG is the only organization who has the guts to fight this bank and if you have a problem with Household please let ACORN know. This bank has been in trouble for predatory lending and targeting the elderly, and has paid fines to the tune of thousands of dollars. It is worthless if they are allowed to continue attack the elderly and minorities the way they have. They get in trouble for home loans so they focus on a new venue to go after seniors, credit cards. This ordeal will end in a court of law unless Household somehow waves a magic wand and makes me disappear, baring that, any information I might get from any of you via the internet may prove vital in

court. This is wrong and it is a crime against the elderly, and doing any business with this bank or any of it's related companies only supports it's actions. Don't take part in the abuse, research this bank and you will see that your better off getting your financial needs serviced somewhere else. Call them, write them, or email them... Let household know this will not stand. Let your state officials know, as they can't stop crimes they don't know about. Most of all, good luck with any problem your having and DO NOT remain silent. Thank you D
