GAIN Advertising pop-up ads - are very annonying - clicking the X to close the ads does not close the ads

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on October 21, 2002:

GAIN Advertising Pop-up ads are very annoying. The pop-ups themselves are bad enough but when clicking on the X to close them, they do not close. It takes several minutes for them to leave, if at all. Most of the time I have to reboot the computer.

Trying to remove any and all GAIN/Gator related software from my computer was extremely hard. I had to email GAIN to receive help to remove software that was installed on my computer without my knowledge. I find this extremely irritating. I also can't believe this is legal.
