RE: Chase Bank - credit card account sold from Providian - Chase more than doubled interest rate we to were victimized by the buyout of my wifes credit card from providian to chase manhattan bank. she had a 5.9 percent interest rate and they sent out this little agreement that could sneek by anyone stating the "new terms". i guess they think it is good practice to just go up more than double just because they could. never late and as a matter of fact the payment was on auto deduction. who do you think you are chase????? word of mouth still is the most powerful advertisement in the world. fortunantely we caught this and closed the account before they could just double the interest. peggy and jerry.
