I placed and order with igadget.com on August 29, 2002 for a PUR filter tank 1700EF. The product was delivered damaged. The UPS package was intact, but the PUR box containing the tank was significantly dented and re-taped, and the tank lid was broken when I unpacked the product. It was obvious that igadget packed a damaged product and shipped it off to me. I called igadget immediately and they sent me a return shipping label. Upon receipt I immediately shipped the product back using the UPS label. As indicated below from the UPS tracking site, the product reached igadget and was signed for by Patel on Sep 17. I sent an email two weeks later asking for my replacement product or a credit to my visa card. Igadget replied that as soon as they received the returned product they would credit my visa account. I replied to them enclosing the receipt below to verify that they had received the returned product. I have now spent considerable time, several emails and two phone calls to igadget and this order is not resolved. As of today, October 17, which is one month after they signed for the returned product, I have not received a refund, and my subsequent inquiries have not been answered. Igadget has now held my money for over six weeks, and I am now paying interest on the amount. I did business with igadget for the convenience of ordering online. Igadget sent a defective product which should never have been shipped and subsequently have provided poor customer service on my account. These are the only two things that I can look for in an online vendor - a good product delivered with decent customer service to my account. What else is there? They disappoint on both of these.
