I have been attending Star Trek conventions put on by Creation Entertainment for at least 15 years now and I knew they were getting a bit greedy, but I never thought they'd go so far as to rip me off intentionally! I had sent in my ticket order as usual and since my tickets did not arrive in the mail, I assumed they would be at the "will call" table, as in previous years.
Well, imagine my shock (and anger) when I get there and find out they have no tickets for me! I was forced to pay the higher price at the door (an extra $10), which I did, because I had come a long way and was with a friend who would not have agreed to turn around and go home at that point (I would have!) I e-mailed the sales dept. immediately after the convention and they admitted that the ticket order was sitting there and they forgot to process it. They promised me a refund.
That was SEVEN months ago! I have e-mailed them repeatedly -- half the time they won't even respond and the other half of the time they just make empty promises of payment. The woman I had been corresponding with in the sales dept., Leticia, finally admitted that they didn't have my credit card information any more (this was months later, though) and asked for my mailing address to send me a check. (Never mind that I had been including my mailing address with my e-mails all along.) Finally at the end of June she promised to "mail the check next week".
Well, guess what? It's October and there's no check and have had no response to any of my inquiries regarding this check since then. Not only have they ripped me off, but all those people who've been paying jacked up prices at the conventions for "preferred seating", would have a lot to complain about!
The so-called "preferred seating" extends almost two-thirds back down the center rows of the auditorium so that a person in the last rows are literally sitting next to people in "general seating" who paid $15 less for the same view! What a rip off!
I'm glad I had the sense not to pay their inflated prices for a poor view, but I know that plenty of people were sorry when they found out what they got for their money. I know I'm sorry that Creation got so greedy and can't be bothered to rectify a simple situation such as mine. Profit is clearly more important than customer service or the goods they deliver.
Shame on you, Creation Entertainment!
