Consumer follow-up message - June 19, 2004 - From: //

This is a follow up on a complaint I posted against AHS and their failure to reimburse the cost of repairing my air conditioner. They refused saying it was not an authorized repair - even though I had the repairs authorized -as did the technician, by their cutomer service person SUSAN. I was also contacted by there legal department stating something different.

I have never recieved the reimbursement promised.

I would advise anyone against doing business with them, the policy is not worth the paper it is printed on.If you are stuck with a policy, be sure to get an authorization number from AHS, insist on one, before having any work done. I hadnt heard anything about any authorization number until I tried to get reimbursed, then was told it was my responsibility to get one.

The only good news, I have been contacted regarding a class action lawsuit.

Please contact me if you are having the same problems.

RE: American Home Shield insurance - denied reimbursement for repairs to air conditioning I would like to post this complaint against American Home Shield insurance.

I followed all the procedures as per their office and getting repairs to my air conditioner, including the verbal authorization - which was given to both myself and the service technician - I was told I would be reimbursed for the repairs and to pay the tech.

I was then denied reimbusement and when trying to contact the person ''SUSAN" who gave the authorization, I was told she no longer works there and would not have done this. I was then told that I should have gotten an authorization number, which I was never given or even informed I needed (this is not stated in any of the paperwork or contracts they issue) so therefor they would not reimburse.

I have never spoke to a more rude bunch of so called proffesionals partically "MATT", "HENRIETTA" and "GAYLE". They better keep their jobs there as I doubt their lousy BITCHY attitudes would not be welcome at a reputible company.

So, as it stands not only am I out the $550. for the repair of my air ,the work is not complete and it still is not in working order. If anyone knows how to get any satisfaction or refunds please let me know as I will be contacting any and everyone I can to help me. I have definately been ripped off.

I also have been denied by AHS for air conditioner repairs. they said the equipment wasnt maintained so they wont repair. I just bought the home and no one disclosed I needed to have the maintenance records from the previous owners. If this is a material fact for coverage why dont they have to disclose this at point of sale? I am currently waiting for an answer on my heating unit which has a cracked fire box. I cant wait to see how they wiggle out of this one. any help would be appreciated.
