RE: Sprint PCS - incorrectly reported deliquencies to credit reporting agencies - reported the wrong person - fradulent information used to open account
My husband & I had a credit report pulled with a mortgage broker to refinance our home & charges from Sprint PCS were listed with the account in collections. He & the broker contacted the collections agency reporting this account to notify them someone used my SSN & the account wasn't mine.
The collections agency gave my husband the address that the account was opened in & found it was not an address in which I ever resided in (they listed DC & I live in MARYLAND)! The agency also stated the phone was listed under Sadelson which is my current last name.
After my husband contacted me regarding this issue, I contacted Sprint PCS' Security group and found the following: The application used my old married name, not Sadelson and had my date of birth incorrect. NOTHING MATCHED! According to Sprint PCS, these charges have been removed from my credit report & recorded as fraud.
After they got my address to create the letter stating it was fraud, they sent me the bill!! I am a Telecommunications Business Analyst & know the proper procedures for opening Telecom accounts. Sprint PCS was in the wrong for opening this account all together.
I haven't had luck in finding an attorney to help me try to go after Sprint PCS, if anyone can help, email me @ Email User . So far, I've placed fraud alerts on my credit, contacted the FTC, Md. Attorney General's office & the Better Business Bureau.
