RE: Premier Reader Service - told can't cancel magazine subscription

I tried calling this company to cancel my subscription and they tell me there is no way that I can cancel it.

I have never signed a thing and since I ordered this subscription I have moved so if they sent me anything to sign I have not received it and it has not been signed. I really want out of this because I can not afford it!!

What can I do??

I just got a call from someone from Premier Readers Service, trying to verify if I had a Visa, MC, Amex or Discover because these cardholders were entered into the "Dream of a Lifetime" sweepstakes.

She kept wanting to continue with her "courtesy call," but I asked her where the company was. She said Indiana. When I asked where in Indiana, she hesitated ever so much, then said "Greensdale."

She kept trying to interrupt me to ask me whether I had these credit cards. Seeing that I wouldn't let her continue, she became frustrated.

She also would not give me any information about the company, just that she was giving me a "courtesy call" to inform me about the sweepstakes.

I told her I was not giving her any info whatsoever until I had investigated the company, as I had not entered into any sweepstakes.

She angrily said goodbye.

They are a magazine subscription company, and I believe they also have a subsidiary with credit card offers.

Don't give any caller from this company ANY information. There have been quite a few complaints already, especially from people who suddenly started receiving magazines in the mail and charges on their credit cards.
