RE: Direct TV satellite - Internet Access for computer - ordered via America Online - dish installed by Audio Innovations, Shawnee Mission, KS too close to basketball hoop - playing basketball interferes with satellite signal I am sick and tired of the run around. I have filed a complaint with Call for Action. your name will be publicized on our areas local news station for the problems you have casued me. Janet Seber
Leav., Ks. 66048 October 8, 2002 KCTV 5 Call For Action Shawnee Mission, Ks. 66205 Hello Call For Action: I have a dilemma that I have been patiently trying to resolve for almost one year now. That dilemma happens to deal with the installation of my Direct TV satellite for my computer. It just so happens to be that the satellite that I purchased through American Online to have installed, was installed 4-5- feet away from my sons basketball goal. Please refer to the enclosed photo. You tell me how is he to play basketball without having the ball interfere with the satellite. Guess what, he's not, and has not been allowed to for almost a year now. It has been almost a year now because Audio Innovations the installer, and American Online the satellite service provider, keep passing the buck. American Online seems to think that one month of free service they offered me, will satisfy me, that they will get the issue resolved. If I had any questions later to call back with reference # 16293379, with reassurance that the problem would be resolved, solely at their expense. I paid American Online $149.00 for the satellite for free installation through a Direct TV installer, which was Audio Innovations. The telephone directory does not have an address listed for Audio Innovations, just the phone number of 1-816-734-8383. However on the other hand evidently American Online does not have record of the correct phone number for their installer because the number they gave me, after being on hold for numerous minutes , was 1-816-456-8979, which is a personal residential number.
I have told American Online that the numerous times I have contacted them, that the number is incorrect. You've got it, pass the buck!!! American Online proceeds to tell me that the 1-816-456-8979 number is the only number they have. They tell me to call the installer of my satellite and that American Online is just that, no more than a provider for the service. Afterall, what good did the reference number do, because when I called back American Online indicated to me that there was no such number. All I am asking for is for the satellite to be moved out of the way of the basketball goal so my son can play basketball. It should have never been installed there in the first place. Any assistance that you may give me will be greatly appreciated. Needless to say at this point in the game I am highly irritated by both Audio Innovations and American Online because they seem to only blame each other. I have made numerous phone calls, monthly to American Online mainly because they are who I purchased the satellite through. On the other hand I feel Audio Innovations should also be held responsible.
They tell me sure, they will move the satellite for a fee. After viewing the enclosed photo you will see what I am talking about, the distance between the satellite and the basketball goal. By the way I was not at home at the time of installation, only long enough to let the installer run the necessary wiring through my garage and up the siding of the house. My son who was 14 at that time told the installer who was outside of the house, when the signal was correct. I just keep on getting ignored and I am sick and tired of it. That is why I "Called for Action". Sincerely, Janet Seber From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 11-Oct-02 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
