Target, Riverside County - denied refund for stereo

Complaints.com received the following consumer message on October 9, 2002:

RE: Target, Riverside County - denied refund for stereo I recently bought a stereo from Target in Riverside county and when I tried to return it for a refund, they told me my receipt had already been used for a refund. When I asked them how I could still have the product and the receipt (unmarked by the way), they didn't have an answer for me. All they told me is that they would investigate it and for me to call back the next day.

When i called back, they said that one of the cashiers in customer service remembered me coming in and she said she also remembered giving me the cash! This is not fair and it is pretty much my word against hers.

Further more, about two weeks later, i was harassed for theft of a product I already owned in my bag. I proved this when I opened up the product and showed them it was already well used. And this incident was at a different Target!!

I will NEVER go there again and i will make sure none of my friends or family go there either. I just wanted to report this to you because I just can't think that I am the only one out there that has been scammed and harassed like this.

Also, I would like to stay anonymous if you investigate this further.
