RE: AOL - account frozen due to password being stolen - rude treatment from AOL
My account at AOL was frozen because someone had swiped my password and used it for business purposes... When I called, it was obvious that this has happens frequently to AOL members as they had a special 800# and service area dedicated to this. After a 15 minute wait on hold, the person on the phone - Sheila - acted rudely, said this was my fault, and basically accused me of wrongdoing.
I asked for her supervisor and she would not give me a name or number and threatened to hang-up on me (after a 15 minute wait!!!). I got the password change and asked for a supervisor, she again said no, complimented herself on the great service she gave, said I was rude and then hung up. I don't know if you can relay this to anyone at AOL - there are really no ways to easily voice a complaint, and I don't want to wait on hold again - I will be closing my account unless I hear from someone soon!   From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Wednesday, 02-Oct-02 00:00:00 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisWhy is my aol and aim account frozen?
