I purchased a Proform 760 by Icon from Sears in January of 2002. Within 4 months it did not work. I called the Sears store and was informed it does not stand by it's products and they would do nothing for me. Sears suggested I contact Icon.
Icon determined that my console burned out and I needed to purchase a new one. I did so and received the console in about 3 days. Upon trying to follow the replacement directions and failing, I contacted Icon again. They were next to totally non-resonsive.
No one there could help me remove my old console and replace it with the new one I had just purchased. Of course they offered to send out a service person at a charge.
So, after $700 and no exercise equipment that works I've turned to you. My goal would be for either Sears or Icon to refund, replace or repair the equipment.
My husband is a trainer and a coach and works for many universities and schools. We plan on contacting these establisments and notifiying them of these problems if our problem does not get resolved.

But I still have to ask this. Why would you have a problem with Sears when Icon (treadmill maker) only warranties the treadmill for 90 days? Why is that Sears' fault? You feel like Sears should just eat the cost of repairing your product is what it sounds like to me.. Which is absurd. Had the machine failed within that 90day period they would have gladly sent someone to your home to fix it free of charge. A warranty period is a warranty period. Sears (or any retailer) cannot control that period of time..
