_____________________ Sent a 5 page letter to Nissan regarding experience buying from one of its dealers - Darcars Nissan in Rockville Md and they took an attitude that the complaint was a contract dispute between the consumer and the dealer and since the dealer is independant of them there is nothing they can do. Nissan does not care about the fact that the dealer's dishonesty reflects on them.

In fact, they refused to respond in writing to my complaint because I told them in my letter that they are either part of the solution or thye are part of the problem. I had to call them to find out that they had even contacted the dealer regarding the complaint. The dealership, which advertized cars at a price they really didn't want to sell them at, showed us a car with scratches on it and said that was the only one left of the 5 advertised at that price.

They continued to advertise the 5 cars for two weeks after we bought it and refused to fix the scratches. The arrogant nature of the way the dealership used bait and switch was remarkable. There was no indication in their advertising that any cars had defects or were used. When we came to see the car, the salesman said we should have known there was something wrong with the car because of the price. Love that logic. This case is now kicking around at the Maryland Attorney General's office... but it is still disturbing to me that the manufacturer would like to think it can turn its back on the matter. This is the kind of business practice that not only victimizes consumers but honest businesses as well because they compete with a dealer that uses deceptive practices to lure buyers.
