Cablevision based in Torrington had provided for us a Basic service that at the time included AMC, Religious Channel, TNT; we disconnected it at some point due to personal reasons unrelated to the company. In Nov. 2003 we reinstalled cable, also Basic and were charged $41 installation fee. None of the above channels were included anymore.

I believe that when a company offers you a service under one name, they should inform you if the name does not cover the same service anymore.

When we complained, you'd think they would take the high road and say: we will reimburse you, since you were not informed, but perhaps you would consider upgrading? We might have considered it, instead, we were told that we should have researched etc. and of course, we should have guessed that the company has changed what hides under the title "Basic."

Wouldn't recommend the service, as for the customer service, might as well be called "company defense service." Unfortunately, they actually lose business for the company, instead of gaining, since we actually considered a superior package until we were told that for 2 days of misrepresented service we will pay a large installation fee.

Quite an honest way of making money at the expense of the customer. Perhaps they don't know that being considerate of a customer might gain them much more profit in the future?
