RE: Waldbaums supermarket, Staten Island, NY - upset about "stork parking" spaces
My complaint is about "stork parking" or "expecting mother parking". I am enraged every time I go to my Waldbaums (www.waldbaums.com) supermarket on Staten Island.
There are plenty of handicap parking spots which there should be for the legitimate handicap consumer but now there are 4 "stork parking" spaces. Being pregnant is not a handicap it is a privilege.
If a pregnant woman is in such a helpless condition then someone else should be going to the store for her. Otherwise she shouldn't be given the same privilege as someone with a handicap. It also amazes me that she has no problem grocery shopping in this extremely large store but she can't walk a couple of extra steps to her car.
And if this is the case, that an expectant mother should be given this consideration then what about other people like senior citizens. It also discriminates against all men and women who are unable to become pregnant.
