My wife and myself are legal tenants at the NYC Housing Authority Webster houses. About six months ago we receive a letter from them, stating that they were taking legal action against us, because of unpaid rent for the month of November 2001.
That's right two years later! thank God the wife and I keep records of all our transactions with Housing Authority, so we meet with their housing assistant, and provided them with the pertinent documents that indeed prove we paid the rent for November of 2001.
At the end of the meeting their worker states " Don't worry, its all taken care of" Well six months later we are still going to court on this matter, received numerous letters from the city marshal, alerting us of eviction actions taken, because we failed to pay the rent for the Month of November 2001.
We continue to meet with the local management staff, provide them with document and evidence that Housing Authority did indeed cash the check for the the month and year in question.
Their worker continue to say to us" Don't worry, we know, and all is right!!!!! Mean time we continue in court. We will continue our battle, just to show you the local government we have in New York City," In The Land Of The Free!!!!
